Hi, I’m John Steins.

I served as mayor of Dawson since June 2006 until October 20th, 2009.

The new mayor edged me out by 8 votes on voting day. Probably the closest result in Dawson’s history.

During my term this blog has served well as a sounding board for my concerns as well as those of my constituents. It also enjoys a large readership for which I am grateful.

Even though I am no longer officially in office, this web site will continue to be published with an eye to critiquing the performance of Dawson’s new mayor. I will also be keeping an eye on government in general.

I must say how much I enjoyed the privilege of serving as mayor of Dawson. Now I will continue to serve the interests of my constituents on TheMayorsBlog.com.
