Georgeous Dawson Days!

No overcoat required! It’s just beautiful out there today, we are bathed in a blanket of 18 degree sunshine and quality of air unmatched anywhere. On my way from of the office I took a picture of the deteriorating ice bridge; you can still walk across but wouldn’t recommend driving, at least not during the day.

It’s my understanding that more and more people are coming up to visit Dawson with the express purpose of witnessing the ice breakup. With weather like this I don’t think it’s a hard sell.

In my travels today I noticed our public works people busily thawing out manholes and mains. Here’s one of our dedicated crew, Johathan Howe feeding a long steam hose into a main.

I’m supposed to be on Sounds Like Canada on CBC tomorrow with Shelagh Rogers talking about Dawson.

  1. Good interview John. After a whole year in the role of Your Worship you still sound more like an artist than a politician!

Thanks Andre. You know what they say about that which is ‘bred in the bone’. I believe that a part of the future of this town rests with the creative class and that is the area that excites me the most.

And aside from an inborn manipulative streak I don’t think I’ll ever behave like a politician.
